Read More ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Read More mobile application for iOS (the "Service"). A web experience is not available at this time. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the Service.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Email address — collected when you sign in via Google or Apple OAuth for account creation and authentication.
- Display name and profile photo — sourced from your OAuth provider during sign-in; you may update them at any time.
- Bio and reading goal — optional profile information you choose to provide.
Information generated by your use of the Service
- Reading activity — books you add to shelves, reading statuses, ratings, reviews, and reading progress.
- Social activity — accounts you follow and followers.
- Device push token — if you opt in to push notifications, we store your device token to deliver them.
Automatically collected information
- Analytics data — we use PostHog to collect anonymized product interaction data (e.g., which features you use) to improve the Service. PostHog does not sell your data.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account
- To provide, operate, and improve the Service
- To personalize your experience (e.g., your feed and recommendations)
- To send push notifications you have opted into
- To analyze usage patterns and improve features
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only as follows:
- Supabase — our database and authentication provider hosts your data on secure cloud infrastructure. Supabase processes data under appropriate data processing agreements.
- PostHog — our analytics provider receives anonymized product interaction events. No personally identifiable information is sent to PostHog.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal process.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings, which permanently removes your account and all associated data including shelves, reviews, reading activity, and follows. Deletion is irreversible.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information (see account deletion above)
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format)

7. CCPA (California Residents)
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. 8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
9. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption for data in transit and Supabase's security infrastructure for data at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, sending a notification through the Service.
